Saturday morning kayaking is back!

Bring your kayak, come out to the pool, and work on your skills and have some fun. Cost is $5.00. Each person will need to sign a hold harmless agreement before entering the pool.

Kayaks must be clean before they will be allowed in the pool. The Rio Rancho Aquatic Center will no longer have a hose for our use! Make sure your gear is clean before bringing it to the Aquatic Center.

You may park at the back door and enter the pool through the back door (first one to arrive, walks to front door to open back door for everyone else).

Go to the front desk and pay your $5.00 and sign a waiver.

Make sure kayak is clean!

A Note About Safety:

The Greater Albuquerque / Santa Fe Kayak Meet-up provides this site as a public service to New Mexico Paddlers. With any outdoor adventure, "survival" is hardly enough. Los Alamos - Walkup Aquatic Center

Practice time for Canoes, Kayaks and Rafts. The doors open a half hour earlier for boat cleaning before entry. All water craft must be rinsed off on the patio prior to pool entry. Boaters must provide their own boat. All participants must have a wristband for entering the pool. Life jackets are recommended for participants.

Dates: Spring 2024: April 30, May 14 & 28.

Time: 6:40 -8:10 pm (Front Desk window closes at 7:10pm)

Fee: $5 per person

Taos Youth and Family Center Pool

We have permission to bring kayaks to the deep end of the pool during water aerobics, which are held in the shallow end. There is also a small pool at the base of the slide. If someone wishes to learn to roll, and desires spotters or instruction, we can ask to use that. We may even be able to use it during adult lap swim times.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:00 - 10:00 am.

Anyone coming MUST contact the Aquatic Center beforehand to let them know they are bringing a kayak. 575-737-2583

Open Kayaking in Santa Fe – Genoveva Chavez Community Center

Please Note: There is no “host” for the meet ups located in the Genoveva Chavez Community Center.

The GCCC pool opens for kayakers at 6:00pm.

Bring your boat to the back entrance then be sure to park in the parking lot. You will need to register when you bring your boat in, rinse off your boat, and read the other rules.

Please be sure to pay the $10 fee at front desk (it can be after you bring your kayak in)

Kayakers must exit the pool by 8:00pm
